Alice Springs - Desert Park

Mon (2/8) this park is a must see for visitors to Alice Springs. It is just on the edge of town and has about 2km of walking trails. You are given an audio device which provides audio information at 31 different locations. There are also information boards all over the place.

It is authentic desert habitat that has typical desert flora and fauna.....

We went to a cultural talk given by an aboriginal ranger, a guided walk through the nocturnal house given by a young ranger in a wheelchair and a bird show given by an attractive white female ranger. Ticked all the diversity boxes!

Once again a very hot day. This lizard was walking along and just flopped - portraying exactly how I felt.....

The bird show was great, trained birds flying and walking around and through the audience (similar to one Kirsten, Brett and I saw at Taronga Park Zoo).....

And lots and lots of beautiful and interesting plants, animals and birds....
